first_imgSeriously, this is probably the biggest street naming injustice in America’s history. Hootie and The Blowfish lead singer Darius Rucker was honored in his hometown of Charleston, North Carolina with his very own street – Darius Rucker Blvd., which is the road leading up to the North Charleston Colliseum.I don’t know how you don’t miss the boat on this. The street should clearly be called ‘Hootie St.’ Now, no child will ever score drugs on the corner of ‘Hootie’ and ‘Broadway’. ‘Darius Rucker Blvd.’ has no swag, no flow. There needs to be a Hootie St., and there needs to be a bar called ‘Hootie’s’ on the street. This should be Darius Rucker’s legacy, besides being known as the whitest sounding black singer in the history of music.last_img
