In some cases, the inspection process willinvolve minor digging at the base of the poles and treatment of the wood. All materials used are environmentally safe as most are water based. Once the work is completed, more than 20,000 poles will have been inspected.QPIM vehicles can be identified by their company name, logo and a magnetic I&M contractors sign. A letter on I&M stationary will accompany each crew. QPIM employees work schedule, depending on weather conditions, will be Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. and inspections will continue for several weeks.Pole inspections, part of I&M’s preventative maintenance program, are among the many actions the company takes to maintain the reliability and safety of the system.
