The agreement was to ensure a great coverage of the National Soccer League resumption of competitions on television and the online platform. “This signing of the live telecast is a milestone for me in PNG football and the media and I am so excited about that,” said PNGFA president, John Kapi Natto. He added that PNG football in the last three to four terms have always tried to popularize the greatest game of all; however, this year throughout the world Covid-19 has collapsed many things and football is one of them. “This year most of our fans and supporters around the country have not entered the field to watch the games and most of them have missed out on sports not only football but other sports as well,” he said. Kapi Natto acknowledged viewers around the country, partners KPHL, Chairman and managing director for supporting football in all different dimensions as core sponsors of NSL and Luke Liria of the KPHL who has also heard the cries and predestined to bring football to our audience. NSL Chairman Benny Popoitai also said that today is a defining moment for soccer in this country; this is the first time that normal domestic games will be broadcasted live to all our stakeholders throughout the country in sponsorship of KPHL. EMTV Acting chief executive officer, Sheena Hughes said: “On behalf of EMTV we would like to commend the NSL and PNGFA for taking the initiative to actually hold this tournament running in PNG and right across the world in these challenging times. “This is the first time we will be broadcasting live not only in PNG but right across the Pacific as well and it is an admirable achievement and EMTV is very happy for that and look forward to more partnerships,” said Hughes.last_img
