Minnesota scored a 296 in yesterday’s first round and a 287 inthe second round, and finished off its third round this afternoon with a 290,bringing its three-round total to 873, 21-over-par.Senior Justin Doeden ended his tournament with a third roundscore of 69, two-under-par, to finish with a three-over-par total of 216, whichtied him for 20th place. It was a big improvement for Doeden, who finished his first dayof competition in 30th place and shot five-over-par in the first two rounds. Following closely behind Doeden was junior Runar Arnorsson whofinished in a six-way tie for 26th, freshman Thomas Longbella who tied for 32nd,and junior Riley Johnson tied for 36th. Auburn was crowned the team champion and finished nine-under-par,and Duke junior Jake Shuman and Michigan sophomore Nick Carlson both finishedfour under par to share the individual title.The Gophers next take the course at the Alister McKenzieInvitational in Fairfax, Calif. on October 10.last_img
